OZ - Chronicles of Courage
OZ, Chronicles of Courage is the
fourth of a series of books related to Jews in the military.
Historically, Jews are known and
respected for their contributions to such fields as law, literature, medicine,
commerce, education, and other professions.
One profession in the repertoire
of Jewish accomplishments cries out for recognition: that of the military.
Throughout the ages, though small in numbers, Jews have succeeded beyond
imagination in our country's armed forces. The last member of the military to
receive the Medal of Honor (though belatedly and as the result of the Korean
War) was a Jew. At least fifteen Jews have been Medal of Honor recipients.
OZ, Chronicles of Courage
continues the transcript of informing the public of the Jewish contribution to
the defense of our country. Many of those featured have received decorations for
service and courage. A number have not. But all of them have been brave,
courageous and dedicated. They have volunteered to serve their country, and most
placed themselves in harm's way. And a number of the participants in today's War
on Terror are highlighted.
